（六）包埋（埋蠟、沉床）
材料浸蠟后再換兩次已熔融的純蠟，然后將材料和石蠟一起倒入提前疊好的包埋紙盒中，用加熱的鑷子迅速將材料按一定的間隔和所需的切面擺放整齊，同時用加熱的鑷子趕走材料周圍的氣泡，待紙盒表面的石蠟凝固后將紙盒平放入冷水中，使石蠟迅速凝固。zui后從紙盒中取出蠟塊，以便保存。注意將樣品編號封于蠟塊上，以免樣品混淆。
（七）修塊
將已包埋好的蠟塊切成小塊，每一小塊包含一塊材料。然后按照所需的切面，用單面刀片將小蠟塊切成梯形，并可粗視到材料切面。然后用燒紅的蠟鏟把蠟塊底部牢固的粘接在載蠟器上。
（八）切片
用切片機（如旋轉切片機）將蠟塊切成連續(xù)的蠟帶。切片時先把切片刀夾在刀架上，再把載蠟器夾在固定裝置上（注意安裝切刀的角度，刀口運行方向與材料切面平行），然后調(diào)整好所需厚度，一般可在7~14微米，視材料和所需觀察對象而定，一般葉片、芽可厚些，胚囊和花粉粒可薄些，轉動切片機切片。
